Recently, Brazilian President Lula and Vietnamese President Leung Qiang held productive talks in Hanoi to jointly explore cooperation prospects in areas such as aviation manufacturing and meat processing.
During the meeting, Lula actively promoted the aircraft products of Brazilian aviation industry and expressed his hope to introduce Brazil's advanced aviation manufacturing technology into the Vietnamese market. It is reported that Vietnam Airlines is currently actively evaluating the procurement of Brazilian aviation industry(The regional jet manufactured by Embracer has been the subject of in-depth negotiations between the two parties. Lula reiterated that Brazil is willing to export high-quality aircraft to Vietnam to support the rapid development of Vietnam's aviation industry.
In addition to cooperation in the aviation manufacturing sector, Lula also sees great potential in Vietnam's meat processing business. He pointed out that if Vietnam can open up its market to import Brazilian beef, it will attract investment from Brazilian meat processors, thereby making Vietnam a beef export center in Southeast Asia. This proposal has received a positive response from Liang Qiang, who stated that Vietnam is seriously considering the possibility of importing beef from Brazil and looks forward to closer cooperation with Brazil in the field of meat processing.
Brazilian food giantJBS has also shown a strong interest in this collaboration. According to Reuters last week, JBS is considering building its first meat processing plant in Asia in northern Vietnam, and all of this will depend on whether Vietnam allows the import of Brazilian beef. Lula's visit undoubtedly injected new impetus into the promotion of this cooperation intention.
In addition, Brazil and Vietnam have signed a five-year action plan covering multiple fields such as defense, agriculture, energy, and technology. The signing of this action plan will further deepen cooperation between the two countries and bring broader development prospects for both sides.
After the talks, Lula also invited Vietnam to participate this yearThe BRICS summit held in Brazil in July pledged to actively promote a trade agreement with Vietnam during Brazil's presidency of the Southern Common Market in the second half of this year.
