Ode to the Twenty Four Qi Poems·Mid July of Chushu
Tang· zhen
I have always worshipped eagles and birds, gradually realizing the depth of white hiding.
Chushu, meaning“Out of heat”This marks the official end of the scorching heat and is the second solar term of autumn. At this point, the Three Fortunes have passed, the heat is gradually dissipating, and the remaining power still lingers, commonly known as“Indian Summer”The weather has shifted from hot to humid. There are folk customs such as releasing river lanterns and eating duck meat, praying for peace, nourishing yin and moistening dryness.
At the end of summer, the morning and evening are slightly cool, and the midday heat still lingers. The rice waves turn gold, urging the sickle of the farmers; Wutong leaves fall, quietly foretelling the depth of autumn. The lingering power of summer and the coolness of autumn play a silent game between heaven and earth, and everything quietly changes its breathing rhythm.
