01Russian high-ranking official killed in car bomb attack

A car explosion occurred in Barashiha, Moscow Oblast, resulting in the death of Moskalik, Deputy Director of the Operations Department of the Russian General Staff. After investigation, the Russian side detained a Ukrainian agent and confirmed that the agent obtained a homemade explosive device from a Ukrainian intelligence agency base in Moscow Oblast, installed it on the vehicle involved, and then remotely detonated the vehicle. The Russian side has classified the incident as a terrorist attack, and Ukraine has not responded yet.

• The Operations General Headquarters of the Russian General Staff is the highest operational command center of the Russian military, consisting of the Campaign Planning Bureau, Strategic Operations Bureau, and Joint Operations Coordination Center.
